…THE LINK GOES TO MY OTHER BLOG. THIS IS A GREAT POST ABOUT THE FASHION SHOW. HERE IS A SNEAK PEAK:
2. People argue that we are sending the wrong message to young ladies; I also disagree with this. (The Most.) Now, regardless of how made up they are or how much training they do, real women DO look like this. I have friends who are aspiring models and they have this look, but they have probably never been on such an elite runway. My point being, no, we should not try to teach young ladies that this look is the best, or the most preferred look. But instead, we should build up their confidence and always make them feel beautiful b/c there will always be someone smaller than them, taller than them… also smarter then them, etc. Not to mention if we spend so much time dissing these runway ladies, we have just (in a sense) hurt their self esteems, why should we hurt one group just to empower another? We could just teach everyone that they should feel comfortable in their body. No matter what shade, or what height, or what size.
